Trauma therapist recovery coach Dallas, Dr. Sandy Stillo, LPC-S

Hi, I’m Sandy Stillo

I’m so glad you’re here.

I’ve spent my career working with people who carry grief and trauma that has become so woven into their lives, it often goes unnoticed.

Many of my clients describe having “good” childhoods or say their lives aren’t “that bad,” yet, there’s a quiet heaviness they can’t quite explain. This inner tension is more common than it seems, especially when grief or complex trauma has gone unrecognized.

We often learn to “get through” difficult experiences without fully healing from them. Over time, that unprocessed pain can shape how we see ourselves, our relationships, and our place in the world—leaving us feeling stuck or disconnected without fully understanding why.

Exploring the past to better understand the present can feel uncomfortable at first. But with time and support, confusion gives way to clarity, and that heaviness can begin to lift.

My approach is warm, collaborative, and grounded in humanistic principles. I offer a space where you can feel seen, understood, and supported as we gently explore what’s beneath the surface and begin to make sense of what you’re carrying. There is no judgment here—only compassion, curiosity, and care.

You deserve relationships that feel fulfilling, a life that feels meaningful, and a sense of ease within yourself.

If you’re considering taking the next step, I invite you to reach out or schedule a consultation. I’d be honored to support you in your process.

Can counseling help?

First and foremost, you need to know that I 100% believe you can overcome whatever is going on in your life right now. That said, no one can promise that counseling works. What we do know is that a safe therapeutic relationship, consistent attendance, openness, and trust in the process increases the likelihood of a positive outcome.

The process begins with a brief consultation phone call (no charge) to see if we are a good fit. If we decide to move forward, the next step will be a one (1) to 1.5 hour virtual or in-person session where we will talk more in depth about your history and goals for therapy.

If I am in network with your insurance company, I will file your claims for you and your out of pocket cost will be determined by your insurance company. If I am not in network with your insurance company, I can provide a superbill that you can file with your insurance company. They will apply your out of pocket expense to your deductible and may also provide you with a partial reimbursement of your out-of-pocket costs.
